Join our intensive VEX Competition Training Program this summer! This comprehensive season package, running from May through the competition season, is specifically designed for dedicated students seeking advanced robotics training. Led by Mr. Q (Tony), our school’s founder with 10 years of VEX robotics experience, along with our team of expert instructors, this selective program prepares students for world-class competitions.

Our summer intensive training offers specialized instruction in VEX IQ or VEX robotics, advanced competition strategies, and extensive hands-on practice sessions. Students will develop and refine crucial technical skills while working in our state-of-the-art facilities. This program is an integral part of our competition season preparation, providing serious competitors with the foundation they need for success in upcoming tournaments. Selected participants will have the opportunity to join our competition teams and represent our school in official VEX competitions.

About Mr. Q (Tony Qian) VEX Program:

  • Expert Background: UBC graduate and RoboEDU Cofounder with over 10 years of robotics teaching experience
  • Competition Success: Mentored 50+ World Championship teams and served as World Champion tutor in 2015 and 2022.
  • Professional Experience: Currently teaches robotics at Crescent School, where he designs comprehensive robotics curriculum and VEX competition programs

Summer Camp Weekly Theme

Foundations & Fundamentals
Students will dive into fundamental VEX robotics concepts, focusing on basic robot construction, programming fundamentals, and introductory competition strategies. They'll learn chassis design, motor control, and sensor integration while working in teams.
Advanced Mechanics
Building on basics, students will explore advanced mechanical systems, gear ratios, and autonomous programming. Focus shifts to competition-specific challenges and strategic planning for upcoming tournaments.
Sensor Mastery & Control
Teams will master advanced sensor implementation, PID control systems, and complex autonomous routines. Students will practice competition scenarios and refine their driving skills.
Competition Preparation
Focus intensifies on competition preparation with mock tournaments, advanced strategy development, and specialized mechanisms. Students will learn advanced programming techniques and autonomous routing.
Performance Optimization
Students will work on optimizing robot performance, fine-tuning autonomous routines, and developing multi-step competition strategies. Advanced sensor calibration and precision driving will be emphasized.
Documentation & Presentation
Teams will focus on competition documentation, engineering notebook development, and advanced troubleshooting techniques. Students will practice interview skills and robot presentations.
Strategy & Alliance
