Advanced Robotics Development Starts Here! A U.S. VEX V5 Team Traveled to TechBlazers for Training — North York Build Bootcamp Now Open for Registration

For VEX teams, summer is never a season for taking a break—it is when the gap between teams begins to grow. Top-performing teams spend the summer designing, building, testing, and refining their robots to gain an early advantage for the new season. The earlier a robot is completed, the more time a team has for iteration and optimization, creating a significant competitive edge.

That is why more and more high-performing teams from different regions choose to attend intensive summer training programs, collaborating with experienced mentors to develop, exchange ideas, and continue learning together.

As one of Canada’s leading STEM education organizations, TechBlazers has developed numerous world-class robotics competition teams over the years. At the 2026 VEX V5 World Championship, Team 16610A earned the prestigious titles of World Finalist, Create Award winner, and Division Champion, achieving Canada’s best VEX V5 World Championship result in the past decade. This remarkable achievement represents an important milestone for Canadian VEX Robotics and has established Team 16610A as one of Canada’s premier VEX V5 competition teams.

Meanwhile, Team 16610G earned the Judge Award during its very first appearance at the 2026 VEX V5 World Championship.

From repeated success at the VEX World Championship and major North American competitions to original robot designs that have influenced the global VEX community, TechBlazers has always focused on teaching authentic engineering processes—not simply competition techniques.

Our mentor team brings extensive competition coaching experience while guiding students through robot development, programming, engineering design, and season strategy planning. Students learn not only how to compete, but also how to think and solve problems like real engineers.

Thanks to this proven curriculum and teaching system, from June 22 to June 26, a VEX Robotics team from the United States traveled to TechBlazers to participate in our one-week Build Bootcamp, completing intensive training in preparation for the upcoming competition season.

This was more than an international exchange—it was also a strong recognition of TechBlazers’ teaching system and robotics development expertise.

*This July, TechBlazers North York Campus will also offer two sessions of our Build Bootcamp. If you’re looking to take your Build skills to the next level, don’t miss this opportunity. Full program details are provided later in this article.

TechBlazers’ Complete Summer Training Pathways

To support students at different stages of their robotics journey, TechBlazers offers three different summer training pathways.

Regular Classes — Building a Strong Foundation

If you have not yet joined a VEX competition team, Regular Classes are the ideal place to start.

The curriculum systematically introduces every major aspect of VEX V5 Robotics, including:

  • Mechanical Fundamentals
  • Programming
  • Control Systems
  • Engineering Design
  • Teamwork

Students build a solid foundation in robotics and engineering, preparing them for future competition teams.

Sprint Weeks — Accelerating Competition Team Development

Sprint Weeks are designed specifically for existing TechBlazers competition teams.

The entire program follows a real-world engineering development process, including:

  • SDR(System Design Review)
  • PDR(Preliminary Design Review)
  • CDR(Critical Design Review)
  • FRR(Final Readiness Review)

The goal is to complete Version 1 and Version 2 of each team’s competition robot before the school year begins, giving teams ample time for testing, refinement, and optimization before the competition season.

Bootcamp — One Week of Intensive Skill Development

Bootcamp is not a regular class. It is a full-day, immersive, high-intensity training experience.

It is designed for students with competition experience who want to strengthen their competitive edge, while also welcoming motivated beginners who are ready to dive into robotics development.

With small class sizes and hands-on instruction, students focus on the core skills of robot development and rapidly build comprehensive robot construction capabilities.

TechBlazers North York Build Bootcamp — Registration Now Open!

Following the successful completion of our Build Bootcamp with the visiting U.S. team, TechBlazers North York Campus will launch a new Build Bootcamp this July for students who want to strengthen their robot building skills.

If you have completed a CAD course and are ready to begin designing and building robots, or if you want to jump directly into the Build side of VEX Robotics, this program is designed for you.

Program Information

Session 1:July 20 – July 24

Session 2:July 27 – July 31

Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Location: 47 The Links Rd, Unit 47, North York

Tuition: CAD $900

Small Class Size: Only 8 students per session.

What Will You Learn?

This Build Bootcamp covers the complete TechBlazers Build Curriculum, totaling 15 classes and more than 30 hours of instruction.

Throughout the week, students will systematically learn:

① Build Fundamentals & Parts Identification

② Tools, Manufacturing, CAM & Shop Safety

③ Drivetrain Design & Assembly

④ Mechanism Design & Integration

⑤ Robot Build Challenge

Apply everything you’ve learned by completing a comprehensive Robot Build Challenge, transforming classroom knowledge into real engineering experience.

TechBlazers has long specialized in VEX Robotics competition training, developing a comprehensive engineering education system and competition pathway.

Whether through Regular Classes, Sprint Weeks, or Bootcamp, every program is built around authentic engineering workflows. Students learn not only how to build robots, but also how to think like engineers, collaborate effectively, and solve complex problems.

More and more teams from across Canada and around the world continue to choose TechBlazers for training and collaboration, demonstrating the growing recognition of our robotics education system among high-level competition teams.

This summer, if you’re ready to take your robot building skills to the next level, we welcome you to join the TechBlazers Build Bootcamp!
