Prepping for the Big Stage
On April 26, 2025, TechBlazers‘ competitive team 16610A took center stage at the 2024 Silver Owl Pre-Worlds Signature Scrimmage—a high-level event designed to prepare elite robotics teams for the upcoming VEX World Championship in Dallas.
This exclusive scrimmage brought together 16 of Ontario and Quebec’s top teams, all of whom have earned their place on the global stage. While competitive, the event emphasized collaboration, strategy refinement, and peer learning.
A Platform for Growth and Strategy
The Silver Owl Scrimmage provided a low-pressure but high-impact opportunity to test drive strategies, adjust design elements, and gain real-time feedback from peers and mentors. For Team 16610A, it was a critical milestone.
Their performance demonstrated not only technical skill and innovation but also the importance of collaboration in competitive robotics. They used this event as a springboard to refine tactics, enhance their robot’s performance, and learn from top teams in the region.
Why Pre-World Scrimmages Matter
Unlike formal tournaments, pre-world scrimmages offer a unique environment for:
- Testing new code and hardware configurations
- Exchanging design ideas with like-minded teams
- Strengthening communication and match strategy
- Gaining insights into World Championship-level competition
The presence of top teams from both Ontario and Quebec added geographic and strategic diversity, helping participants better anticipate global competition standards.
On the Road to Dallas
For TechBlazers and Team 16610A, the scrimmage wasn’t just practice—it was progress. The event validated months of training, problem-solving, and team-building. It also reinforced the community aspect of robotics, where learning from others is just as important as competing.
With Dallas on the horizon, this scrimmage served as a powerful checkpoint, reaffirming the team’s readiness and bolstering their confidence for the global stage.
Standing Together
As they continue their journey, the entire TechBlazers community stands behind Team 16610A. Their story represents what robotics is all about: innovation, collaboration, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
