The journey of the Techblazers to the VEX Robotics World Championship 2024 is a testament to the power of dedication, collaboration, and exceptional technical skill. Facing stiff competition from over 400 champion teams from around the globe, our Team 10837A and Team 10837W have proven their mettle in a highly competitive environment.
Team 10837A achieved an incredible feat by securing fifth place in the Skills Challenge and third place in the Team Cooperation category. Team 10837W, on the other hand, bagged the Sportsmanship Award and secured the fourth place in the Team Cooperation category. This commendable performance led to a proud moment for us all as the championship came to a close in Dallas. We are delighted to announce that both teams have returned home in glory.
One of the most noteworthy accomplishments was that of the Techblazers in the Skills Challenge. Among the top five, our team was the only one from North America, thus earning the title of “Number One in North America.” This achievement speaks volumes about our unmatched strength and excellence in the field of robotics.
Our team members have not only stood out among thousands of teams but have also showcased their exceptional robotic skills and team spirit. The journey from the qualification rounds to the provincial stage and finally to representing Canada at the world championship required rigorous screening and preparation.
We are indebted to the relentless efforts of every parent, child, and teacher involved. Their hard work throughout the year has paid off as our children shone brightly on the global stage. A hearty congratulations to all our students who have returned home with their heads held high.
For those interested in the VEX Robotics World Championship, we’d like to share some insights into the competition process. Techblazers offers a professional competition training course and has a decade of teaching experience that helps children achieve their dream of participating in the world championship.
The qualification round begins in May each year when the theme is announced. From October to February, regular competitions are held once or twice a month. Teams that qualify participate in the provincial competition held at the end of February. This year, out of over 300 teams, about 40 advanced to the provincial level.
The provincial competition is a fierce contest where 40 teams vie for four spots in the world championship. This year, our team secured three of those spots.
The world championship is held in early May, where teams from all over the globe gather in Dallas. This year, 412 teams from 86 different countries participated in the championship.
The journey to the world championship offers an unforgettable experience, not just in terms of technical skills and competition but also in terms of camaraderie, teamwork, and the spirit of sportsmanship. We look forward to continuing this journey and reaching new heights in the years to come.
