TechBlazers is proud to announce that our robotics team 16610A (Snacky Cakes) has triumphed in the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) Metal Robot World Championship Qualifiers, earning the coveted Tournament Champion title! This victory cements our team’s status among North America’s best and secures their place in the World Finals scheduled for May 2025.
Overcoming Challenges to Victory
Despite missing two key members, our young stars, Owen and Stuart, stepped up and led the team to victory. In collaboration with team 77677X Trailblazers, they powered through three intense days of competition. Their determination and tireless efforts paid off as they faced fierce competitors 8829C (CAT-ALYST) and 8889A (99%) in the finals.
The best-of-three format saw our team wins with 23-28 and 12-18 scores, securing two consecutive wins and clinching the championship trophy!
Success in the Skills Challenge
Our team didn’t just excel in the main competition. In the individual Skills Challenge, the TechBlazers 16610A team achieved a remarkable second place, only surpassed by the formidable 99% team. This outstanding performance has placed our team fourth in the global Skills ranking, demonstrating their talent and potential on the world stage.
A Prestigious Event
The VEX Robotics Competition is a highly competitive and prestigious event that brings together the top robotics teams across North America. It is a direct qualifier for the World Finals, held only once a year, making this victory an even more significant achievement for our team.
A Celebration of Hard Work and Team Spirit
After the competition, the organizing committee treated the top three teams to a celebratory lobster dinner, recognizing their extraordinary achievements. Owen and Starut’s dedication and resilience, even without the support of two of their teammates, showcase their exceptional character and commitment to excellence.
