Over the past year, TechBlazers’ development in education and technological innovation has been inseparable from the support of Richmond Hill Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC). From connecting entrepreneurial resources to boosting brand promotion, SBEC’s multi-dimensional assistance has enabled us to further expand our business, enhance our influence, and accumulate numerous achievements worth sharing.

Richmond Hill SBEC, as an innovative institution created through collaboration between Ontario province and the municipal government, has been committed to providing “one-stop” quality resources for local businesses and entrepreneurs, becoming a “solid backing” for countless entrepreneurs. The support it offers precisely addresses business development needs in every aspect:
Startup Funding and Training Programs: Injecting financial vitality into startups while enhancing entrepreneurs’ capabilities through professional training;
Business Consulting and Mentor Support: Bringing together experienced industry mentors to strategize for business development and solve practical operational challenges;
Community Innovation and Collaboration Centre (CLIC): Building platforms for exchange and collaboration, promoting resource sharing and innovative interactions;
Networking Events and Exchange Opportunities: Helping businesses expand their connections, integrate into the local business ecosystem, and explore more possibilities for collaboration.
In 2024, TechBlazers successfully secured $5000 in government startup funding through SBEC’s Starter Company Plus Program. This funding came like “timely rain,” not only helping us further expand the scale of our educational projects but also giving more young people the opportunity to engage with interesting and practical robotics and programming courses, igniting their interest in STEM fields.
Municipal Government Recognition: Letting Excellence Be Seen by More People
TechBlazers’ growth and breakthroughs have also received high attention and recognition from the Richmond Hill municipal government. The SBEC team not only included us in their official “Success Stories,” but also shared our story throughout the city through the #FeatureFriday social media campaign, allowing more people to learn about TechBlazers’ efforts and achievements in educational innovation.
The municipal government was delighted with our students’ excellent results on the global STEM stage and actively promoted us through various channels. This has not only greatly enhanced TechBlazers’ visibility but also showcased Richmond Hill’s unique charm and strength as a “City of Innovation and Education” to the outside world.

Fruitful Results: Shining on the STEM Stage
With the support of SBEC and the community, TechBlazers’ student teams fought valiantly throughout 2024-2025, achieving numerous successes in global STEM competitions and delivering an impressive “report card”:
- Claimed the Championship and Excellence Award at the Create U.S. Open Robotics Championship (Team 13697H “Stakehouse”) – it’s worth noting that this competition is known as the “Robotics Olympics,” making this honor particularly significant;
- Won the Create Award at the VEX World Championship, one of the highest honors in global robotics education;
- Received global nominations at the NASA Space Apps Challenge for outstanding performance, winning multiple awards including Best Use of Science, Galactic Impact, and Most Inspirational;
- Most proudly, Team 16610A has consistently maintained the “World Number One” position in the VEX Skills global high school rankings!
Behind these achievements are the students’ day and night efforts and unwavering perseverance, as well as powerful proof of Richmond Hill’s strength in youth innovation and STEM education.
