TechBlazers offers weekend trial classes year-round to help families explore our programs before committing to full enrollment. These sessions provide students with a hands-on preview of our learning environment and instructional approach, while giving instructors an opportunity to assess a student’s current skill level.
Trial classes run for 60 minutes and are conducted in mixed-level group settings, allowing students to interact with peers and engage in real class activities. Sessions are available at all campuses, with no registration required—families simply need to reserve a time slot based on availability. Most trial classes are free of charge, with the exception of the North York campus, where a small fee may apply due to local policy.
Purpose of the Trial Class #
Beyond exposure to our robotics or programming curriculum, trial classes also serve as informal diagnostic assessments. Instructors observe the student’s:
-
Basic technical knowledge
-
Hands-on building or coding ability
-
Approach to problem-solving
-
Overall participation and engagement
This allows our team to recommend the most appropriate starting level for each student within our tiered curriculum, ensuring they are placed in a program that matches their readiness and potential.
Trial classes are designed to be low-pressure, interactive, and exploratory—offering real insight into what it’s like to be part of TechBlazers.
